PHOBIAS, 2015 FESTIVAL’S LEIMOTIV
It is known that there are phobias for all likes, or in this case, dislikes: fear of swallowing, of clowns, of needles, of open spaces and closed ones too, fear of dolls, of buttons, of wine, of shells, of peanuts… fear of yourself; Fear of colors, of semen, of dentists … of everything, of absolutely everything. For time and space reasons, it is known that our hindsights are not he best, but even so, indeed, this 2015 edition will be dedicated to PHOBIAS, not only the ones represented, but also the ones that may be produced in the audience during the festival. We hope, however, that they mutate into ‘philias’ because of everything that the Festival offers, and we hope that the ones who suffer from a phobia, leave sane after a shock treatment like this, even though it may be comparable to those unloaded by Paul Michael Glaser on their patients in Phobia (John Huston, 1980). This film is not the only candidate to be screened: the range is so wide that we can name Vertigo (Alfred Hitchcock, 1958) and Repulsion (Roman Polanski, 1965), or other ones such as Imprint (Takashi Miike, 2006) Citadel (Claran Foy, 2012) or Spider (David Cronenberg, 2002). Enough said.
