In the same way as The Conjuring had a spin-off inspired by the sinister doll that opened the film, Annabelle -which will have its sequel this same year-, the second film of the saga, The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist, will also have its spin-off: The Nun. Corin Hardy, director of The Hallow, movie that we had at our Molins de Rei Horror Film Festival 2015, will be in charge of directing this new project of James Wan, whe is responsible of the script along with Gary Dauberman.
At this moment there are no details about the plot of the cast of the film, but we do know that the idea for the film came to James Wan by chance when preparing the evil character of The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist. It was at that time when he created The Nun and talked with New Line to make a movie based in the character. Finally New Line Cinema produces along with Atomic Monster and Safran Company.
We must mention that this film has no relation with The Nun by Luis de la Madrid which was based on a original story by Jaume Balagueró and that Filmax produced in 2011.
The films related to The conjuring have not let the fans down so far. Knowing that James Wan will be involved, that Hardy will direct, and taking in account that the nun is pretty scary for the few details we know about her so far, this film is quite promising and promises to follow the line started by Wan, known as “the prodigious infant os horror”.
We, from TerrorMolins, want to wish the best luck to Corin Hardy in this great adventure.
