Born in Vienna, Austria, the critically acclaimed actor made his screen debut at age 15 starring in Michael Haneke’s award-winning “Benny’s Video”. 5 years later, his following collaboration with Haneke earned him international iconic cult status in the award-winning “Funny Games”, nominated for the prestigious Cannes Palm d’Or.
A classically trained pianist, the multi-talented artist moved to Berlin at 20, where, in addition to his onscreen work as an actor, he worked as a musician an[AGUS: ha de dir «and»] composer as well as a directing and musical assistant on Operas with such greats as George Tabori, Werner Schröter, and Hans Gratzer.
With over 30 film & TV credits, his works include: the lead in Franco de Peña’s award-winning “Your name is Justine”, RP Kahl’s “Angel Express” and “Bedways” (rated #1 Film of 2010 by Der Spiegel), which bowed at Berlinale, as did “99euro-films” and “SleepingSongs”, “Fetish” by student Oscar winning director Soopum Sohn, and was most recently seen in Ruth Mader’s “Life Guidance” which premiered in Competition in 2017’s Venice Days.
