For the fourth consecutive year, the Molins de Rei Horror Film Festival is proud to nouncd that very soon we will launch La Mirada Surrealista [The Surrealistic Sight], the new book of terrorMolins which is going to be published in collaboration with Hermanaute publishers.
The Molins de Rei Horror Film Festival and Editorial Hermenaute are working together for the fourth time. The leitmotiv of the 38th edition of our Festival, which will be held next November 8th-17th, will be illustrated with the issuing of a book which wants to show the insights of the concept of La Mirada Surrealista (The Surrealistic Sight) within horror cinema.
The 90th anniversary of the mesmerising short film Un Chien Andalou, which was born from the groundbreaking ideas of Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dalí, will be a starting point for this choral essay. This new cinema-philiac volume will consist of five chapters, each of which will be devoted to a range of authors with diverse styles, origins and times who have explored surrealism through their own eyes. Therefore, besides de master from Calanda, the essay will also analyse the surrealistic connections of David Lynch, Guy Maddin, Satoshi Kon, Alejandro Jodorowskyy and Peter Strickland.
Albert Gaera, arts director of terrorMolins, will coordinate the work including texts by Javier Espada, Pattie Clapés, Lluís Rueda, Tonio L. Alarcón as well as AlbertGalera himself.
