La Semana de Donostia, Fancine Málaga and Terror Molins to offer short films, workshops and further exclusive contents

La Semana de Cine Fantástico de Donostia, Fancine – Festival de cine fantástico de Màlaga and Terrormolins – Festival de Cine de Terror de Molins de Rei, three redez-vous with common topics and dates, will put their efforts together in pandemic times to promote, broadcast and create horror and fantasy oriented contents. That is ‘Noviembre Fantasma’, a new shared broadcasting channel which will include original contents along with some short films that have been awarded in previous editions of all three festivals.

This free online platform will get direct access from the respective Festivals websites, and will publish bits of interest for genre lovers: short films, interviews, lectures and workshops. This new proposal aims at intensifying the November fantasy character and increase the passion for horror and fantasy all over Spain.

This will make real a venture among festivals, whose excellent connection can be seen in their previous collaborations like for example their belonging to the Méliès International Federation of Fantastic Festivals. ‘Noviembre Fantasma’, is here to stay and its audio visual materials will complement the three festivals’ respective programmes.

The platform wants to become a meeting point for everyone interested in the fantasy genre and aims at bringing audiences to get virtual and straightforward information.

Short Films anthology

‘Noviembre Fantasma’ will start out with an anthology of short films that were awarded at the three festivals. The selection consists of seven productions including well known titles like ‘Voice Over’, by Martín Rosete which was nominated to the best fiction short film at Goya awards 2012; ‘Brutal Relax’, a gore and extreme approximation by Rafa Dengrá, David Muñoz, Adrián Cardona, or ‘Baghead’, Alberto Corredor’s debut as director on a film about resurrection and witchcraft.

Furthermore, ‘Ghost Train’, where the Irishman Lee Cronin puts drama and mystery together in an upsetting plot; Ilja Rautsi’s horror comedy ‘Helsinki Mansplaining Massacre’, with a strongly feminist background, and ‘Quenottes’, the fantastic and devilish version of the tooth fairy mouse brought forth by French film makers Pascal Thiebaux and Gil Pinheiro.

Last but not least, Paul Autric, Léa Georges, Zoé Sottiaux y Maryka Laudet’s recent work ‘Wild Love’, an outrageous and fun story with a bunch of blood thirsty and revenge seeking marmots.

These short films will be available next November 1st-30th at the “Noviembre Fantasma” platform which will be found at www.noviembrefantasma.es as well as each festival’s website: www.sansebastianhorrorfestival.eus, www.fancine.org and www.molinsfilmfestival.com
