{"id":1234,"date":"2024-11-12T13:12:03","date_gmt":"2024-11-12T12:12:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/temporal.molinsfilmfestival.com\/?p=25953298"},"modified":"2024-11-12T13:12:03","modified_gmt":"2024-11-12T12:12:03","slug":"el-poder-de-les-bruixes-torna-al-terrormolins-despres-dun-cap-de-setmana-de-sold-outs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.molinsfilmfestival.com\/eng\/2024\/11\/12\/el-poder-de-les-bruixes-torna-al-terrormolins-despres-dun-cap-de-setmana-de-sold-outs\/","title":{"rendered":"The power of witches returns to TerrorMolins after a weekend of &#039;sold outs&#039;\u2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Dutch team &#039;Heresy (Witte Wieven)&#039;, led by the protagonist, Anneke Sluiters, opens a week full of outstanding presences, with Javier Pereira or Montse Rib\u00e9, among others.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The first weekend of TerrorMolins 2024 saw the &#039;sold out&#039; poster for the Official Section sessions of short films and the highly celebrated screening of &#039;La sustancia&#039;.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jaume Balaguer\u00f3, Desir\u00e9e de Fez and Jordi S\u00e1nchez Navarro, as well as short film teams from Australia, the United Kingdom and France, were among those present during the first days of the festival.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2018&#039;Parasomnia&#039;, by Dani Noblom, and &#039;Berta&#039;, by Luc\u00eda Forner Segarra, winners of the \u00c7-Trencada Catalan short film section.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/temporal.molinsfilmfestival.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/673256ead098a0978a3f3fcf-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25953299\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>The Heresy team at TerrorMolins 2024<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After an inauguration where the films were screened <em>A day in the field <\/em>i <em>The Damned<\/em>, the first weekend of the 43rd TerrorMolins began to offer the bulk of its programming, with activities and screenings filling the Teatre de La Peni. The various short film sessions, with <strong>C-Broken<\/strong>, <strong>Official Section<\/strong> i <strong>TerrorKids<\/strong>, as well as the screenings of the classics <em><strong>The Texas Chainsaw Massacre <\/strong><\/em>i <em><strong>Who can kill a child?<\/strong><\/em>, and three long-awaited feature films, capped off a few first days in which all audiences were able to enjoy horror in all its forms and styles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saturday 9th at noon it was screened <em>Who can kill a child?<\/em>, emblematic title of Narciso Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez Serrador, in a session in which the\u2019<strong>Catalan Film Academy<\/strong> presented its annual action to recover cinematographic heritage. On this occasion, the initiative was focused on genre cinema and it is for this reason that TerrorMolins hosted the screening and the subsequent round table entitled <strong>\u201cThe landscapes of our fears: a geography of gender in Catalonia\u201d<\/strong>. The filmmaker <strong>Jaume Balaguer\u00f3<\/strong>, together with the critic and programmer <strong>Desiree of Fez <\/strong>and the programmer and curator of the action <strong>Jordi Sanchez Navarro<\/strong>, offered their perspective on the spaces of terror in a talk moderated by Tariq Porter, a member of the festival team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Short film day and \u00c7-Trencada awards. <\/strong>Catalan cinema continued to be the protagonist on Saturday afternoon, with the screening and subsequent award ceremony of the short films in the section <strong>C-Broken<\/strong>. Dani Noblom&#039;s new work, <em><strong>Parasomnia<\/strong>, <\/em>was one of the big winners of the afternoon, winning the jury prize. For her part, <em><strong>Bertha<\/strong><\/em>, by Luc\u00eda Forner Segarra, received a special mention from the jury and the Audience Award. The two sessions of <strong>Official Section <\/strong>of short films, with all tickets sold and the presence of filmmakers such as <strong>Sebastien Roignant <\/strong>(<em>Puzzle<\/em>; France), <strong>Colin G Cooper <\/strong>(<em>Bath Bomb<\/em>; Canada) or <strong>Radheya Jegatheva<\/strong> (<em>An Artist&#039;s Curse<\/em>; Australia), among others. On Sunday morning the short film program continued with the session <strong>TerrorKids<\/strong>, where children between 6 and 12 years old enjoyed a selection specially made for their age, the profits from which were entirely donated to the AFANOC \u2013 Children with Cancer association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morning of chainsaws and afternoon of &#039;sold out&#039; with <\/strong><em><strong>The substance<\/strong><\/em><strong>. <\/strong>The pace did not slow down on Sunday afternoon and evening, with the screening of the film honored in this edition, <em><strong>The Texas Chainsaw Massacre<\/strong><\/em>, presented by the film critic <strong>Albert Galera<\/strong>, and a triple afternoon session with <em><strong>Azrael<\/strong><\/em>, <em><strong>The substance<\/strong><\/em>, with tickets sold out, and <em><strong>V\/H\/S\/Beyond<\/strong><\/em>, the latest installment of a saga that is regularly on the TerrorMolins billboard.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the first weekend of the event, the week began with one of the festival&#039;s highlights: the double session of\u2019<em><strong>The Devil&#039;s Bath<\/strong><\/em>, recently awarded the best film award in Sitges, and <em><strong>Heresy (Witte Wieven)<\/strong><\/em>, presented by the producer <strong>Monique van Kessel<\/strong> and the leading actress, <strong>Anneke Sluiters<\/strong>.
