The event introduces the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.molinsfilmfestival.com\/eng\/curtmetratges\/?brx_acd8e9%5B%5D=seccio-oficial\">Official Short Film Section<\/a><\/strong>, as well as some of the highlights of the programming, such as the sections\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.molinsfilmfestival.com\/eng\/curtmetratges\/?brx_acd8e9%5B%5D=c-trencada\">C-Broken<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.molinsfilmfestival.com\/eng\/terrorkids\/\">TerrorKids<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>i\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.molinsfilmfestival.com\/eng\/terrorjove\/\">TerrorYoung<\/a><\/strong>. This new batch of titles, which oscillates between psychological horror,\u00a0<em>body horror<\/em>, black humor and the most disturbing animation, reaffirms TerrorMolins&#039; vocation to give voice to bold, diverse and risky proposals within the genre. In addition, new names belonging to the festival are revealed, with the different\u00a0<strong>jurors\u00a0<\/strong>that will accompany this edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The new crop of shorts from TerrorMolins 2025.\u00a0<\/strong>The edition will open with\u00a0<em>Stomach Bug<\/em>\u00a0(out of competition), a British short that will accompany\u00a0<em>Dysphoria<\/em>, the movie\u00a0<strong>inaugural\u00a0<\/strong>of the festival. Nominated for BAFTAs and widely awarded at international festivals, the short film by\u00a0<strong>Matty Crawford<\/strong>\u00a0combines drama and\u00a0<em>body horror<\/em>\u00a0in one of the horror shorts of the year, to tell the story of Manny, a fifty-year-old Chinese father who feels invisible in British society. As he talks to his daughter, to find out when he will be able to see her again, an unknown presence begins to beat inside him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>conclusion\u00a0<\/strong>will be marked by\u00a0<em>Confession<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>(also out of competition), an intense psychological horror tale in which a priest is interrupted by a mysterious woman who sits behind him and tells him not to turn around. As the woman tells her story, the priest uncovers terrifying secrets that will shake his faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the\u00a0<strong>Official Short Film Section<\/strong>\u00a0there\u00a0<strong>stands out\u00a0<\/strong><em>Corps \u00e9tranger (Foreign Body)<\/em>, one\u00a0<em>thriller\u00a0<\/em>atmospheric film set in an isolated monastery where a researcher discovers that the body of a crime may not be human. The film has a tour of international festivals, such as the Fantastic Film Fest in Brussels, where it won the Grand Jury Prize. Also\u00a0<em>Dream Creep<\/em>, which has been screened at Sundance and Palm Springs ShortFest, among others, has established itself as\u00a0<strong>one of the most talked about titles on the circuit<\/strong>. This piece proposes a domestic nightmare experience in which a voice from the afterlife tempts a couple to commit unimaginable acts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The ghost of the fifth<\/em>\u00a0revisit from\u00a0<strong>the animation\u00a0<\/strong>Goya&#039;s last days at La Quinta del Sordo, surrounded by the spirits of his past, and is revealed as an artistic piece of extraordinary visual and emotional strength. In this same vein, the festival is strongly committed to animation as a language of horror with titles such as\u00a0<em>Judy1964<\/em>,\u00a0<em>My game<\/em>\u00a0i\u00a0<em>Underground Invaders<\/em>, which explore fear through visual experimentation and dark fantasy. We also find\u00a0<em>Good Luck<\/em>, a short film of Taiwanese origin that combines technology and curses with the spirit of the purest style\u00a0<em><strong>J-Horror<\/strong>,<\/em>\u00a0in agreement with\u00a0<em>leitmotif<\/em>\u00a0of the festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the proposals of\u2019<strong>local authorship<\/strong>, highlights\u00a0<em>Smoke bomb<\/em>, a Catalan short that can be seen in the Official Section: a work of growing tension and psychological background that plays with the codes of black comedy and rural terror. The selection is completed with a wide variety of pieces that reflect the eclecticism of the genre.\u00a0<em>A Matter of Minutes<\/em>\u00a0transports us to a party that turns into a deadly nightmare;\u00a0<em>Pimple<\/em>\u00a0turns a simple grain into a grotesque explosion of collective chaos; and\u00a0<em>Impure<\/em>\u00a0recovers a broken love in an abandoned boarding school where faith and guilt turn against its protagonists.\u00a0<em>In and Out of the Hornbeam Maze<\/em>\u00a0plays with childhood and fear in a labyrinth with no exit, while\u00a0<em>Kukeri<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>explores the ancient rituals of\u00a0<em>folklore\u00a0<\/em>Bulgarian and its unexpected consequences.<br><br>They are also part of the selection\u00a0<em>Meat Crayon<\/em>, where a girl&#039;s art drifts towards something much darker and more disturbing;\u00a0<em>Midnight Movie Club<\/em>, which turns a film screening into a lethal experience;\u00a0<em>Night Shift<\/em>, where a night watchman confronts a supernatural presence that evokes memories of her lost mother;\u00a0<em>Out of the Peat<\/em>, an archaeological excavation that unearths horrors from the past;\u00a0<em>Teetan<\/em>, a story from Iran of survival and tradition set in a snowy forest;\u00a0<em>The Woman in the Bed<\/em>, an intimate and chilling piece about sleep paralysis;\u00a0<em>What&#039;s In Your Bag?<\/em>, a fierce critique of image culture; and\u00a0<em>Whitch<\/em>, a domestic horror where witchcraft breaks out in the middle of the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" src=\"https:\/\/www.molinsfilmfestival.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/68ef734b1e62aa1134677ffe-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27519\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.molinsfilmfestival.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/68ef734b1e62aa1134677ffe-1024x681.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.molinsfilmfestival.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/68ef734b1e62aa1134677ffe-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.molinsfilmfestival.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/68ef734b1e62aa1134677ffe-768x510.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.molinsfilmfestival.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/68ef734b1e62aa1134677ffe-1536x1021.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.molinsfilmfestival.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/68ef734b1e62aa1134677ffe-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/www.molinsfilmfestival.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/68ef734b1e62aa1134677ffe.jpg 1625w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u00c7-Trencada: Catalan short, without limits.\u00a0<\/strong>The section\u00a0<strong>C-Broken<\/strong>, created in 2019, offers a prominent space within the festival for short films spoken in Catalan or produced in Catalonia, as well as for innovative local proposals. This year&#039;s titles include\u00a0<em>Mother Benefacta<\/em>, an animated short directed by\u00a0<strong>Marc Riba<\/strong>\u00a0i\u00a0<strong>Anna Solanas<\/strong>, which had its world premiere at the 69th edition of the Seminci. In just 12 minutes and without dialogue, the production combines the technique of\u00a0<em>stop motion<\/em>\u00a0with a shocking story about a convent during the Franco dictatorship, where the nuns offer refuge to pregnant young women but hide a manipulative and dark structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The section also includes titles such as\u00a0<em>Witch hunters<\/em>, which revisits the persecutions of witches in the Vall d&#039;\u00c0neu in 1424;\u00a0<em>Until it stops beating<\/em>, where a young man falls in love with the ghost of a boy who hides an evil presence;\u00a0<em>Instructions for being a wise child<\/em>, a game of tension between two children with seemingly innocent intentions;\u00a0<em>Killergotchi<\/em>, about a virtual toy that becomes a nightmare;\u00a0<em>Palpitate<\/em>, with tarot reader Marcela trying to avoid an accident after having a premonition;\u00a0<em>Chocolate cake<\/em>, a sinister initiation rite in a pastry shop;\u00a0<em>Good enough<\/em>, which explores the extent to which two young women are willing to sacrifice themselves to get a job; and\u00a0<em>The Nest<\/em>, a story of sex and domination that will take an unexpected turn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>Horror for all audiences<\/strong><strong>.&nbsp;<\/strong>The TerrorMolins 2025 programming dedicates a special space to younger audiences with the sections&nbsp;<strong>TerrorKids<\/strong>, competitive section of short films for children aged 6 to 9 and over 10, and&nbsp;<strong>TerrorYoung<\/strong>, activities and screenings aimed at teenagers and young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A&nbsp;<strong>TerrorKids<\/strong>&nbsp;Titles selected for their quality and suitability for family audiences will be screened, including&nbsp;<em>Burk\u0101ns separasteis (The Odd Carrot)<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Durvju burvis (Wizard of the Door)<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Kanopos ir pa\u010di\u016b\u017eos (Hoofs on Skates)<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Konko<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Manai mammai nav bail (My Mommy Isn&#039;t Afraid)<\/em>,<em>&nbsp;Defect<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>The Night Boots<\/em>,<em>&nbsp;<\/em><em>Luna and the Brain Tuna<\/em>&nbsp;i&nbsp;<em>Cry here<\/em>. The&nbsp;<strong>solidarity session&nbsp;<\/strong>in favor of the Association of Families and Friends of Oncological Children of Catalonia (<strong>AFANOC<\/strong>) will be divided by age group, from 6 to 9 years old, and from 10 years old, and will be held in a relaxed atmosphere, with dim lighting, adjusted sound and mobility within the room, to promote inclusion and accessibility. The winners will compete for the Jury Prize (chosen by a Jury made up of children) and the Audience Prize \u201cCaca a la Butaca\u201d. This year the offer is expanded with a family screening of the film&nbsp;<em>Sketch<\/em>, out of competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>TerrorYoung<\/strong>&nbsp;has activities programmed entirely by a team of young programmers. All of them have viewed, discussed and selected the most attractive shorts for the teenage audience. The session includes the film&nbsp;<em>Clown in a Cornfield (Bloody Harvest)<\/em>&nbsp;and is complemented by activities that introduce young people to film creation and criticism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the screenings, the festival offers other activities for all audiences, such as film, craft, writing workshops and a scary reading space for children aged 2 and over, all designed to enrich their experience, in collaboration with the&nbsp;<strong>El Mol\u00ed Library<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.molinsfilmfestival.com\/eng\/jurats\/\">The 2025 juries, soul and criterion of TerrorMolins.\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>The festival has, once again, a group of exceptional juries from various areas of the audiovisual and cultural sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the&nbsp;<strong>Official Feature Film Section<\/strong>, we find journalist and critic Marta Ferrer (Catalunya R\u00e0dio, Naci\u00f3 Digital), filmmaker and special effects artist Pablo Otero (<em>Alien: Covenant, Avengers: Endgame<\/em>) and the screenwriter and director Daniel Padr\u00f3 (Psychopath, Molaphone). The&nbsp;<strong>Official Short Film Section<\/strong>&nbsp;is formed by Loles Fanlo, deputy director of the D&#039;A Barcelona Film Festival; S\u00e9bastien Roignant, filmmaker and photographer awarded at TerrorMolins 2024 for the short film&nbsp;<em>Puzzle<\/em>; and \u00c1gueda Sfer, emerging director with short films such as&nbsp;<em>Dahlia<\/em>&nbsp;i&nbsp;<em>Miserable me<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The jury of the sections&nbsp;<strong>Being Different and Bloody Madness<\/strong>&nbsp;brings together director and screenwriter Luc\u00eda Forner Segarra, filmmaker and programmer of the horror audiovisual platform Shadowz Eric Gonz\u00e1lez, and actor V\u00edctor Palmero, known for his presence in the television series&nbsp;<em>The one that is coming<\/em>&nbsp;or for the play&nbsp;<em>Johnny Boy<\/em>, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The section&nbsp;<strong>C-Broken<\/strong>&nbsp;is in the hands of comedian and screenwriter Mag\u00ed Garcia \u201cModgi\u201d, one of the members of the podcast&nbsp;<em>The Cathedra<\/em>; director Daniel Noblom, who returns to the section after being awarded for his short film&nbsp;<em>Parasomnia<\/em>, and M\u00edriam S\u00e1nchez, audiovisual manager of La Bonne (Francesca Bonnemaison Women&#039;s Culture Center).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Critics&#039; Jury<\/strong>&nbsp;it is formed by Francisco Javier Guti\u00e9rrez (from the media&nbsp;<em>Patio Cinema<\/em>, Blogos de Oro), Roberto Mart\u00edn (<em>Entrefocos.es<\/em>) and David Sanmart\u00ed (<em>Cinedania<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Industry Jury<\/strong>&nbsp;it has the director of the Catalan Film Academy, Laia Aubia de Higes; the producer of the 3CAT series&nbsp;<em>Nudes<\/em>, Judit Navarro Lozano; and Diana Santamaria Varas, distribution director at Atalante Cinema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, the&nbsp;<strong>Jury of the Horror Microstory Competition<\/strong>&nbsp;has as a guest jury the narrator, poet and rhapsode Joan Vig\u00f3 (<em>Lives maybe<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>The beaches of the nape<\/em>).<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TerrorMolins 2025 will screen the most anticipated short films of the Official Section, with outstanding titles such as &#039;Stomach Bug&#039;, &#039;Confession&#039;, &#039;Corps \u00e9tranger (Foreign Body)&#039; and &#039;Dream Creep&#039;, which promise to make the audience in Molins de Rei tremble.
