More than\u00a0<strong>10,000 spectators in person<\/strong>\u00a0have passed through the main venues of the festival, from the Teatre de La Peni to the Ca n&#039;Ametller exhibition hall or the El Mol\u00ed Library. The collection has experienced a\u00a0<strong>increase of 7% compared to the previous year<\/strong>, and the occupancy of all sessions\u00a0<strong>has surpassed the records of 2024<\/strong>, which had already been the highest in the festival&#039;s history. Session after session, titles like\u00a0<em>Dysphoria<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Gaua<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Together<\/em>,\u00a0<em>The Long Walk (La larga marcha)<\/em>\u00a0and the traditional\u00a0<strong>12-hour horror marathon<\/strong>\u00a0they have hung the poster of\u00a0<em>sold out<\/em>, consolidating the festival as a space of enthusiasm, community and passion for genre cinema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to in-person attendees, the festival maintains its presence&nbsp;<em>online&nbsp;<\/em>with the&nbsp;<strong>3Cat collection<\/strong>, which remains available throughout the year. Several short films and a feature-length horror film in Catalan have been added this year, expanding a catalog that combines new releases and films from past editions. This channel, created in collaboration with 3Cat, is consolidating itself as a&nbsp;<strong>reference point for horror cinema in Catalan<\/strong>, accessible all year round beyond the festival dates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In parallel, TerrorMolins reaffirms its commitment to the&nbsp;<strong>creation and production of genre films in Catalan<\/strong>&nbsp;with the first edition of the&nbsp;<strong>Award for the production of a horror short film in Catalan<\/strong>. This year,&nbsp;<strong>eight finalist projects&nbsp;<\/strong>they presented their&nbsp;<em>pitching&nbsp;<\/em>in front of the jury, and the winning project was&nbsp;<em>Cockroach<\/em>, written and directed by&nbsp;<strong>Adriana Galicia<\/strong>. The short film will receive a grant of&nbsp;<strong>\u20ac5,000 for its production<\/strong>&nbsp;and we can see it&nbsp;<strong>premiered at TerrorMolins 2026<\/strong>, thus consolidating the festival as a platform that promotes new talents and original projects within the genre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>leitmotif&nbsp;<\/em>of this edition has been the&nbsp;<strong>J-Horror<\/strong>, the common thread of several sessions. The success of the audience, the consolidation of new proposals and the increase in revenue confirm that the&nbsp;<strong>TerrorMolins<\/strong>&nbsp;continues to grow and remain one of the benchmark events for horror cinema at a national level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>Audience awards.&nbsp;<\/strong>The&nbsp;<strong>Audience Award for Best Film<\/strong>&nbsp;is perfectly aligned with the vision of the official jury, as it has also ended up in&nbsp;<em>Gaua<\/em>, of&nbsp;<strong>Paul Urquijo<\/strong>, which had already won the awards for Best Film, Best Director and Best Special Effects and Makeup in the Official Feature Film Section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the&nbsp;<strong>Being Different Section<\/strong>, the public has awarded&nbsp;<em>New Group<\/em>, of&nbsp;<strong>Yuta Shimotsu<\/strong>, which thus adds new recognition after having been distinguished by the jury with the Best Screenplay Award. As for&nbsp;<strong>Bloody Madness<\/strong>, the public has decided to award&nbsp;<em>Flush<\/em>, of&nbsp;<strong>Gregory Morin<\/strong>, a film that the official jury had already celebrated with the awards for Best Film and Best Performance for Jonathan Lambert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Other awards.\u00a0<\/strong>The\u00a0<strong>TerrorMolins micro-story contest<\/strong>\u00a0once again demonstrates the power of the genre in a very short format: The\u00a0<strong>Institutes Award<\/strong>\u00a0it has been for\u00a0<em>Perfume<\/em>, of\u00a0<strong>Patricia Livania Miranda Vega<\/strong>\u00a0(Valdemoro, Madrid), while in the\u00a0<strong>Catalan category<\/strong>\u00a0the main award went to\u00a0<em>Don&#039;t let them pass you by.<\/em>, of\u00a0<strong>Josep Ravent\u00f3s Rebul\u00e0<\/strong>\u00a0(Molins de Rei), and the\u2019<strong>Catalan Second Prize<\/strong>\u00a0it has been for\u00a0<em>Post-it<\/em>, of\u00a0<strong>Mireia Aldabo Perez<\/strong>\u00a0(Lleida).
