The Molins de Rei Horror Film Festival 2024 reaches its zenith with a closing ceremony that included a double session with The Rule of Jenny Pen i Drizzle in Johnson and the special tribute to Montse Ribé, who received the Honorary Award in recognition of her artistic contribution in the field of makeup and special effects. Emotional, she especially thanked her family for their unconditional support of her career which, she emphasized, required her to spend a lot of time working and not be able to dedicate all the time she would like to her family.

The new film by Austrian filmmakers Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz takes home five awards: best film, direction, screenplay, acting and photography.
The Festival concludes its 43rd edition with The Devil's Bath as the main protagonist. The film directed by Severin Fiala i Veronika Franz has been recognized with several awards in the Official Feature Film Section, consolidating itself as the festival's big winner. The film thus follows a meteoric trajectory that has led it to be recognized at several prominent festivals, from Berlin to Sitges, where it also won the main prize.
The jury formed by Rocío Alés, Júlia Lara and Caye Casas, awarded the film with the awards at the Best film, Best direction, Best performance for the impressive performance of’Anja Plaschg, Best screenplay i Best photography for the task of Martin Gschlacht. These awards have highlighted his ability to combine an absorbing narrative with high-quality technical and artistic work.
The instinct i Párvulos: Sons of the apocalypse they take home the main awards in the Being Different section, and Krazy House i Grafted those of Bloody Madness.
Other award winners in the Official Section include Sebastian Romero, which has won the award for Best Soundtrack for Heresy (Witte Wieven), and Exhume, awarded with the prize for Best effects and makeup. The jury has awarded a special mention to The Rule of Jenny Pen for its originality.
In the Being Different Section, The instinct has been awarded as Best film, while Isaac Ezban has received the award for Best direction for Toddlers Children of the Apocalypse, and Matthew Ortega has been recognized with the award for Best performance for his role in the same film. The award for Best screenplay it has been for Juan Albarracin for his work The instinct.
The Bloody Madness Section has crowned Krazy House as Best film and has recognized Sasha Rainbow with the prize for Best direction for Grafted. Nick Frost has been awarded by the Best performance a Krazy House, while the Best Special Effects they have been for V/H/S/Beyond. A special mention has also been given to Handsome Guys for its ability to mix genres.
The animated film Wander to Wonder heads the list of winners in the Official Short Film Section.
From the official short film section, Wander to Wonder has been awarded as Best short film i Pissing on the Patriarchy has won the award for Best screenplay. The performance of Youngji Jo i Malbok Yang a Home has been awarded with the Victor Israel Award at the Best performance, while Demons has stood out with the Best Special Effects.
