The 20 Second Terror Mills — Film Challenge maintains the original essence and changes to the vertical format to adapt to new audiovisual languages and seduce the generations that create, see and experience terror on social networks.
Ten years ago, #20sTerrorMills was born as an innovative proposal within the festival's digital universe. Inspired by the limits of Twitter and short narratives, it became a space of spontaneous, viral and free creativity that has given rise to authentic gems of condensed horror.
This 2025, the competition is one step forward and transforms into the new 20 Second Terror Mills — Film Challenge. An audiovisual challenge in vertical format, designed for TikTok, Reels and new digital languages, which invites tell scary stories in just 20 seconds.
Only 20 seconds. Two categories. One mission: to scare.
This new edition proposes a double path of participation:
- Leitmotif category – J-Horror

Inspired by the theme of the 2025 festival, it invites you to pay homage to or reinterpret the Japanese horror that marked an entire generation: digital ghosts, disturbing presences and cursed screens.
- Category IA – Free theme
#TerrorMolinsAIChallenge
Open to pieces created with artificial intelligence, from generated images to synthetic voices or digital manipulation. A commitment to incorporating new techno-creative languages into the genre.

Videos must have:
- Portrait format (9:16)
- Maximum 20 seconds in length (credits go over the limit)

AWARD AND DISSEMINATION
The finalist pieces are will be screened during the festival, will be shared on official channels and will be eligible for a special prize for the most viral piece.
The winners will receive festival tickets and one exclusive pack of official merchandising.
