Eight finalist projects mark the success of the new Catalan short film award

The new Award for the best project for the production of a horror short film in Catalan has exceeded all expectations in its first edition. The Molins de Rei Horror Film Festival has received 35 proposals, a response that confirms the vitality of the genre and the growing interest in creating horror in the Catalan language.

After the selection process, eight projects have been chosen as finalists and will compete for the award endowed with 5.000 €, which aims to promote production and emerging talent in Catalan. The finalist teams will defend their proposal in a Pitching session open to the public on November 13th, within the framework of the 44th edition of the festival.

I AM NOT A NAME – Director. Edu Escudero
The labyrinth of dreams – Director. Joan Vila
It doesn't look good. – Director. Oleguer Núñez Picart
The Meadow, where monsters live – Director. Silvia Ballesteros Crosas

The winning project will be announced the same day. November 13 and will be premiered exclusively on 45th edition of TerrorMolins, in November 2026.

With this new initiative, the festival consolidates its role as reference platform for genre cinema in Catalan and reaffirms its commitment to our country's creative talent.
