The new film by Alava's Paul Urkijo, 'Gaua', has taken home the main awards at the festival: Best Film, Best Direction and Best Special Effects and Make-up.
For his part, the British Bryn Chainey has been awarded for Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Performance, by the leading actor Dev Patel, for the film 'Rabbit Trap'.
In the Being Different Section, 'Que ma volonté soit faite (Her Will Be Done)' was the winner; while in the Bloody Madness Section, 'Flush' stood out.
In the Official Short Film Section, 'Whitch' tops the list of winners with the Best Short Film Award and the Manel Gibert Audience Award.

Molins de Rei, November 15, 2025 — The Molins de Rei Horror Film Festival has put an end to his 44th edition after an intense week of screenings, professional meetings and parallel activities that have reaffirmed the festival as an essential event for genre film lovers.
The closing session, held on Friday night, included the screening of the short film Confession, by Japanese director Never Nakanishi, and the feature film The Kirlian Frequency, presented by its director, the Argentine Christian Ponce, who shared with the public the origin and evolution of this project that has now become a cult work.
During the ceremony, the festival paid tribute to the Sevillian filmmaker Paco Cabezas, who received the Honorary Award 2025 in recognition of his career as a director and screenwriter. Author of titles such as Aparecidos, Carne de neón or Mr. Right, and collaborator on international series such as Penny Dreadful, Fear the Walking Dead or Wednesday, Cabezas dedicated the award to the three women in his life — his mother, his daughter and his partner —, with words of gratitude and emotion. The festival highlighted his ability to combine a local perspective with an international projection, consolidating itself as a singular voice within genre cinema.
The program culminates on Saturday with the traditional 12-hour horror movie marathon, apotheoic end point of TerrorMolins 2025, which begins with the announcement of this edition's winners.

Gaua and Rabbit Trap, the big winners of TerrorMolins 2025. The festival thus closes an edition in which Gaua, by the director from Alava Paul Urquijo, and Rabbit Trap, from the British Bryn Chainey, have been recognized as the big winners of the contest. Gaua has taken home the awards in Best film, Best direction i Best Special Effects and Makeup, reaffirming itself as one of the most captivating and impactful proposals of the season. For its part, Rabbit Trap has been distinguished with awards at Best screenplay, Best photography i Best performance for the work of Dev Patel in the leading role.
The official feature film jury of this edition has been integrated by the journalist and critic Marta Ferrer (Catalunya Ràdio, Nació Digital), the filmmaker and special effects artist Pablo Otero (Alien: Covenant, Avengers: Endgame) and the writer and director Daniel Padro (Psychiatrist, Molaphone).
The winners of TerrorMolins 2025. At the Official Section, has been recognized Joan Vila for his soundtrack to Silencio, the new film by’Eduardo Casanova. The composer has had a particularly prominent presence at TerrorMolins, as he is also the author of the suggestive music for the official spot for the 2025 edition. In addition, the jury has awarded two Mentions for Best Film: in the Japanese Kinki Chihō no Aru Basho ni Tsuite (About a Place in the Kinki Region) and the Indian production Bramayugam.
In the Being Different Section, the big winner was Que ma volonté soit faite (Her Will Be Done), recognized as Best film and also awarded for its direction, by Julia Kowalski, and for the interpretation of its leading actress, Maria Wrobel. The jury has distinguished the actor with a mention Michael Gilio for his role in Monkey's Magic Merry Go Round, while screenwriter and director Yûta Shimotsu has been awarded for script from New Group.
The Bloody Madness Section celebrated the film Flush, which won awards at Best film i Best performance for Jonathan Lambert. Also notable is Bodycam, by director Brandon Christensen, who visited the festival to present it and was recognized with the award for Best direction, as well as with a Jury Mention for Best Film. For its part, Deathstalker has been awarded for its special effects.
At the Official short film section, Whitch has been distinguished as Best short film and has also received the Audience Award Manel Gibert. The award to Best screenplay it has been for James A. Castillo i Julio Serrano by El fantasma de la Quinta. The Victor Israel Award to the best interpretation has fallen into Emily Renee for A Matter of Minutes, and the Best Special Effects they've been by Underground Invaders.
The Best short film from the Section Ç-Broken is for Instructions for being a sensible child, while Mater Benefacta has taken a Special mention from the jury, as well as the Audience Award. The Young jury The short film Pálpito stood out.
