The Festival
The oldest horror marathon in Europe
A festival with history and present
The Horror Festival was born in July 1973 as an initiative of the local film club, which sought to raise funds by creating the 16 Hours of Horror Film, the first genre film marathon in Europe. From the very beginning, it received an extraordinary reception from the public, and three years after the first edition, it was moved from 4pm to 12pm, with the Teatre de la Peni hanging the sold-out ticket poster. best horror festivals.
Evolution of the Horror Festival and International Recognition
From then on, and until 1990, the festival went through several phases, with many editions in which it was held simultaneously in two or even three cinemas. The performances that accompanied the night, which emerged in 1979, reached their peak in the 1980s, with the legendary performances.
In 1990, the event was suspended indefinitely, with a first attempt to resume in 1993 that did not bear fruit in the following years. Finally, in 2001, the format was recovered with the intention of expanding it, introducing a preview day of short films. Thus was born the Festival, which has undergone a dizzying evolution in the last 20 years, standing out as one of the best horror festivals.
Evolution of the Horror Festival and international recognition
With 10 days of screenings and a clear international vocation, Terror Molins has become a point of reference in southern Europe when it comes to horror festivals, both for the public and for the industry.

The Federation works to fulfill this mission through its network of festivals in Europe, as well as supporting other festivals in Asia, North America, South America and the Middle East.
