The Ghost

John Farrelly | 2024 | 92 min.

SYNOPSIS

In post-Famine Ireland, a teenage girl and her father escape poverty by working as farmhands in a large country house. Both remain isolated there during the autumn and winter, and their relationship becomes rarefied as the weeks pass. The situation is not helped by the strange presence that haunts the girl, nor by the serious injury that prevents the man from working normally... The first horror feature film in history shot in Gaelic is also one of the most suggestive and elegant proposals of the season, a story of ghosts and haunted houses where references such as The Shining and gestures that refer to Ari Aster's Hereditary coexist.
