Eleven years after the little cult gem Cheap Thrills, American director EL Katz returns to the big screen with a radical and uncompromising proposal that confirms Samara Weaving (The Babysitter, Wedding Night) as an imposing scream queen. A couple flees through the woods from an unknown threat that gradually reveals itself in a dark universe of ancient cults, pagan rituals and creatures of the underworld. EL Katz and screenwriter Simon Barrett (You Were Next) invoke the best of survival and folk horror in a ceremony of a lot of action and few words filled with hemoglobin and ultra-violent outbursts.
