Our first 5 short films
We are honoured to announce the short film MALAKOUT (Dir. Farnoosh Abedi) as part of the selection for this edition, an Iranian film shot in stop motion showing a big passion for the genre with both classic references and breathtaking settings.
The Finnish short film EXPECTANCY (Dir. Juho Fossi) will be one more of the Festival’s OS selection. This psychological horror film deals with the fears raised by parenthood.
MUM’S SWEATER, from acclaimed distribution company, Miyu. An excellent work about mourning seen through an exceptional metaphor.
One of the five short films selected is ELLA Y LA OSCURIDAD (Dir. Daniel Romero). An inspired Beatriz Arjona is the protagonist of this terrible drama «with a flavour of the best Nordic genre» which wonderfully explores darkness.
Iranian director Sheida Sheikhha, introduces NEVERMORE for the 2021 selection. This distressing short film stands out with its way of representing a mother in the inner struggle between fear and demons.
